Step-by-Step Guide to Link PAN with Aadhaar

Linking your Permanent Account Number (PAN) with your Aadhaar card is mandatory for many financial transactions in India. Here’s a simple guide:

1. Visit Income Tax e-Filing Portal: Go to the official website of the Income Tax Department: incometax.gov.in.

2. Locate ‘Link Aadhaar’: On the homepage, find and click on the “Link Aadhaar” option under the “Quick Links” section.

3. Enter Details: You’ll be prompted to enter your PAN, Aadhaar Number, and the name as it appears on your Aadhaar card.

4. Validate Details: If only the year of birth is mentioned in your Aadhaar card, tick the checkbox “I have only year of birth in Aadhaar card.”

5. Agree to Terms & Link: Read the declaration, tick the “I agree to validate my Aadhaar details with UIDAI” checkbox, and then click the “Link Aadhaar” button.

6. OTP Verification: An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number. Enter the OTP to complete the linking process.

You will receive a confirmation message once your PAN and Aadhaar are successfully linked.
